Here I have a 1995 R500 Cannondale road bike that I purchased off E-bay and stripped down to bare metal and repainted, I chose the blue color after receiving the decals that I ordered then having my auto paint store match them. Below is the way it looked when I rode it in the Maroone 150...

Next is how it looks now as one of my weekend riders...

This next bike started as just a dark blue frame that appeared as though someone was going to sell as scrap aluminum, I stripped it down and with a little yellow and black paint and the right components gave it a new life. It's a r900 Cannondale, mid 90's and my other weekend ride.

The reason I chose yellow on this one was that at the paint store they sell miss matched paints cheap and this was one of them. If you've ever purchased automotive paint you'll know why.

OK time for a change so goodby to yellow

And time for black and red
And the Phoenix was born

I used up my leftover paint on the next bike, a Trek 1000 roadie. A little of the yellow, blue and black from the two Cannondales.

I don't have a before photo but take it from me it's quite an improvement. This bike has found a new home.

The decal is commemorating Lance Armstrong's 5 Tour de France victories riding a Trek Bicycle.
